NGO: R.A. Empowerment Initiative

Advocacy. Empowerment. Inclusion.

The Remi Ayeleso Empowerment Initiative for People with Special Needs is a non-profit organization founded to carry forward the vision of Sir Oluremi Ayeleso — a man who believed deeply in a society where people with disabilities are not just included, but empowered to thrive.

Rooted in the same values as RAIN-SPEN, the initiative works to create lasting change through advocacy, education, community support, and public awareness.

About the Initiative

The NGO was established to expand support beyond the classroom and into communities — advocating for people with disabilities, breaking harmful stereotypes, and offering services that promote inclusion, dignity, and independence.

Through annual campaigns, training programs, and partnerships, the initiative brings awareness to societal challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and provides real solutions.

Mission & Vision

Mission:
To empower individuals living with disabilities through advocacy, support, and education — creating opportunities for them to lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Vision:
A society where people with disabilities are valued, included, and given equal opportunities — free from stigma, superstition, and exclusion.

Advocacy & Campaigns

Every year, the initiative leads awareness and advocacy programs across Nigeria and beyond, focusing on:

  • Eliminating discrimination against people with disabilities
  • Challenging superstitions, such as false accusations of witchcraft
  • Promoting the rights, dignity, and value of every individual
  • Educating communities on inclusion, accessibility, and support

These campaigns reach schools, churches, local communities, and public platforms, aiming to shift cultural perceptions and promote empathy.

Mode of Operation

The initiative operates through:

  • Direct support services for individuals and families
  • Workshops and training programs for caregivers, teachers, and allies
  • Public education campaigns to reduce stigma and increase understanding
  • Partnerships with local and international organizations
  • Advocacy for policy change to protect the rights of people with disabilities

Call for Support

We can’t do this alone.

The R.A. Empowerment Initiative welcomes:

  • Financial donations to fund campaigns, therapy programs, and assistive devices
  • Volunteers and partners to help execute outreach programs
  • Corporate sponsors and collaborators who share our vision of a more inclusive world

Together, we can break barriers, change lives, and build a future where everyone belongs.
