Prof. Mary M. Ayeleso is an esteemed educator, advocate, and leader deeply committed to improving the lives of individuals living with disabilities. She’s the Director of Academics (RAIN-SPEN), a role that reflects her lifelong dedication to special education and her passion for creating an inclusive society. As the wife of the founder, Prof. Ayeleso continues the work of ensuring that people with disabilities have access to quality education and opportunities to thrive.

Her educational journey is nothing short of inspiring, with a focus on Special Education. Prof. Ayeleso holds a Diploma in Special Education, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in and a Doctorate in Special Education (Ph.D.). Through her academic and professional experiences, she has gained a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of individuals with disabilities, empowering her to make a profound impact in her field.

Prof. Ayeleso has held various leadership roles that highlight her expertise and commitment to advancing special education. She has served as the Coordinator of the Special Education Model Teaching Centre in Jos, Plateau State, where she worked tirelessly to provide effective and specialized education. She also served as the Head of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences at the Faculty of Education, University of Jos, Nigeria, contributing to the academic development and training of future educators in special education.

Her passion for disability advocacy extends beyond her professional roles. She has been an active coach for Special Olympics Nigeria, offering guidance and training to athletes with disabilities. She has also served as a Level Coordinator and Secretary of the Hearing Handicaps (H.H) Unit, further demonstrating her dedication to creating opportunities for those with hearing impairments. Additionally, she has contributed to the development of assistive devices and the promotion of disability-friendly environments through her role as Secretary of the Assistive Devices/Disability Friendly Environment and Attitude Committee.
